ETHGlobal HackMoney

We participated in the largest ETH hackathon of 2021, where we won Polygon's "Best DeFi Related Tooling" award and Second Place Overall with ParaSwap. This is a great sign that Ante will be an invaluable DeFi trust primitive to help legitimate projects attract interest and usage. See our submission here!

Partnership Development

We have met with over 30 protocol teams to explore collaborations. Feedback has been promising and we are working closely with a number of teams to design and write the first real Ante Tests. Protocols have also indicated willingness to put meaningful stakes behind their Ante Tests, which will be important for incentive alignment and trust signaling.

Our Ask of You

We always welcome warm introductions to potential protocol partners and recruits. If you know of any, please shoot me a DM on Twitter. Join our community on Twitter and Discord, we’d love to have you!

 June 7, 2021 Newsletter

We continue to push towards our v0.5 release of Ante.  With recruiting, business development, protocol design, legal planning, and marketing all rapidly progressing, our team is firing on all cylinders.  We are excited to share the following updates with you:

Protocol Design and Community Initiatives

Without giving too much away (we want you to get the full experience of our Gitbook!), Ante's initial launch will feature a suite of fun but working Ante Tests that our team has personally written. These are meant to be easily readable so that even non-technical users can quickly review and understand how Ante Tests work.  First Ante users will be able to try staking and challenging with small amounts of ETH for themselves.

As mentioned, we have just released our Gitbook, containing a detailed walkthrough of Ante.  This includes mockups of the staking/challenging mechanics, leaderboard, and more and is also your first look into the user interface we’ve designed.

There are other initiatives in the works, including some opportunities for early users to win prizes.  We are excited and don’t want to give away too much now, but you will be the first to know once we make a public announcement.

As always, we welcome your feedback!

Partnership Development

Each week, our team connects with new potential launch partners and DeFi protocols interested in using Ante.  In just the past week, we’ve spoken with teams based in China, Germany, France, Australia, and throughout the United States (what even are time zones?), working on protocols in a variety of areas, including lending, derivatives, and cross-chain solutions.

It has been very encouraging to see the level of interest from these introductory meetings.  We think enthusiasm will only increase once other teams see the amount and quality of work that has gone into our protocol design and documentation.

If you are part of a protocol team or know of any that would be interested in using Ante, please let us know.

We Need Your Help!

Your input and participation are key to Ante’s success.  In particular, we are looking for skilled front-end contractor developers to accelerate the development of our online and mobile presence.  Here is a brief blurb, any and all referrals are greatly appreciated:

We are a decentralized finance (DeFi) startup hiring for a Front-End Developer to help build the user interfaces of the Ante Protocol, which DeFi users will use to see what protocols to trust through stake-able tests. They will own the website and web-app front ends. Modern FE dev familiarity required, React, TypeScript & ethers.js (our stack) experience preferred, but Solidity experience not required. Ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, has shipped production, consumer-facing code, and builds extremely fast. The team is lean, highly technical, and has a strong track record in successive and emergent fields of finance.

As Ante rolls out the initial launch, please share your thoughts with us on Twitter and Discord and feel free to ask us questions or just say hi!

May 18, 2021 Newsletter: Welcome to Ante!

After much anticipation, we are so excited to officially welcome you to Ante Protocol!

Background

Ante Protocol seeks to be a Schelling point for developing protocol trust. Ante allows developers and users to write customized on-chain AnteTests that verify a target protocol’s underlying invariants (such as a lending protocol’s collateralization ratio). Ante users can stake or challenge these AnteTests to demonstrate their belief in the strength (or vulnerability) of the target protocol’s smart contract code.

Through this, Ante provides a transparent, real-time view into how much community trust exists for a target protocol that has adopted AnteTests. We believe this will give protocol teams valuable information into their product development efforts and the DeFi community confidence to engage with interesting projects.

Team

In just over six weeks, our team has grown to a collaboration of six, including three developers and a designer. We continue to actively recruit talented engineers skilled in Solidity, front end, and full stack development. Please contact definn@ante.finance if you have someone talented you’d like to refer!

Partnership Development

We have received tremendous feedback from DeFi projects on Ante’s mission and design. While we cannot share too much at this time, a number of protocols have reached out to us, indicating strong interest in being an early Ante adopter. These protocol teams have provided valuable feedback on the Ante design and we are constantly looking for ways to improve. We would love to talk to any teams who may be interested in learning more.

Community Engagement

We encourage you to explore our Twitter, Discord, and Medium pages for latest project updates and to interact with our team. We will ramp up our level of community engagement as we get closer to product launch. Initial initiatives under consideration include AMAs, public discussions on DeFi, and community-wide contests and giveaways! Stay tuned!

Protocol Design

The team has a working v0.5 and is pushing hard towards launch. The initial version available for users to explore will have AnteTests vetted by our team and will allow for users to stake, challenge, and claim using small amounts of ETH. Outside developers will have access to easy-to-understand tutorials on Ante. Dedicated updates with more detailed explanations of Ante’s features will come soon.

We can’t wait to tell you more in the coming weeks, and we hope this has been a helpful behind the scenes look into what we have been doing! Feel free to contact the team on Twitter and Discord with any questions in the meantime!
